Wednesday at Fuge

Wednesday was an amazing day here in Nashville. Started off with another Bible Study on the Kingdom of God. This time we studied the man who sold everything and purchased the field and the pearl of great price. For those who were able to be at church Sunday before we left, this clicked right away. Pastor had preached on these parables and so the kids immediately remembered them and were able to dig a little deeper into the passage with their ministry groups. We then left campus and headed off to our ministry sites for the day. We had some really great things happen. Most of which we will share on Sunday when we get back. Some of our kids had some really great conversations with the people they were serving about Christ. Others were able to hear personal stories of how folks have ended up homeless and are trying to get back on there feet. I had the opportunity to talk with a homeless lady who gave me an amazing pineapple cake recipe and also shared some of the greatest wisdom about being comfortable in who God has made you. She said that if you are a child of God, God is your master. And so that makes you his masterpiece. And God doesn't make any junk. Wasn't expecting a homeless person to be so happy in who God has made her.
After dinner, we went off to worship. The camp pastor spoke on the prodigal son. It was explained in such a way that it finally clicked for some of our kids who have heard it a hundred times but never really realized what all it meant. We then got together as a church group and shared what all we encountered today. It's been really exciting to see what God is doing here with these kids. I'm looking forward to getting home and seeing what all God does through these kids.
Next we had our night time activities. All of the youth leaders were put together on 2 teams to compete in a pop culture trivia game. (I got stuck on the lame team. We lost.) Anyway, we then had a special appearance from Carter the Church Assistant. You can see one of his video's in one of our previous posts. Then it was off to bed. I'll post some pictures in a few.
