We have had a hard start
to this 2015. Not only has the weather been miserable
(particularly of late), but we have
had more than our share of dear
saints who have passed on to he
with Christ. It is such a hard time
when we lose those so dear to us
and our community. As I have
been processing through this and
spending time talking with others
about it, I am reminded of a
quote from C.S. Lewis' book "The
Last Battle". This quote comes
from the last paragraph of the
last book in the Chronicles of
Narnia series. Lewis beautifully reminds us of what awaits those
who follow Christ when our life
on Earth is done. May this be a
beautiful reminder to you all of
the goodness of our God.
"And as He spoke, He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them. And for us this the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in
Narnia had only been the cover
and the title page: now at last
they were beginning Chapter
One of the Great Story which no
one on earth has read: which
goes on for ever: in which every
chapter is better than the one
before."
